Worst In Virginia...I initially went to the place thinking I would escape the tourist traps and get a good local meal, and I became convinced it is the worst in the state. It was old and dirty. The six 15 year old waitresses outnumbered the customers. At Lynnhaven fish house there was a 45 min wait on Saturday nite while at this place there were only 4 tables full. My husband ordered steak, baked potatoe, and motzerella sticks. The motzerella sticks had been put in the same deep fryer as the fish. Not too bright. The potatoe was obviously rotten and black inside, why didnt the 15 year old server see it, who knows? I guess she was too busy giggling at the waitress station with her high school classmates. And the New York steak was paper thin and half grizzle. The heinz 57 sauce for the steak was almost black from being so old, even the replacement bottle of heinz 57 sauce we recieved was expired. I ordered fried fish that had been cooked in yesterdays deep fryer oil. How did I know it was yesterdays oil? My fish was sitting in a puddle of it. Did I mention all these things to the server? Some of them, why not everything? No point in it, only way it could be made better was to give me a meal from another restaurant. The establishment is gross, no wonder that after 58 yrs of being open, the best they can do is four full tables on Saturday nite in an old brick shack.
